AMANDA TURNER
In 2023 I started to explore ideas of reflections, shadows, negative space and memories. I hoped to capture the feel of British woodland walks, but not with the clarity and saturation of midday sun. I used muted palettes, which are calming to the eye, with small touches of bright colour. Through levels of abstraction and faded tones, my intention was to communicate the feel of a dream or memory of a walk. My plan was to complete a Botanical Reflections collection within 2023. However, a move to Cardiff, setting up a new studio, and work on other art projects, meant that it got put on hold. I do plan to return to this collection between other paintings. Watch this space.
